I have been using the MAG handles as an integral part of our strength and conditioning program. In our sport, hand injury can be a common occurrence and the handles have been a way for the athletes to maintain upper body strength whilst working through the rehabilitation process.
Also the grips have worked well by including a new training stimulus that keeps our lat/pulling motion volume high by rotating through each grip either using them as pulldown or row. Give these grips a try, you won’t be disappointed! Martyn Girvan High Performance Coach Collingwood FC Australian Rules Football |

I have the medium grip neutral bar and from set #1 through all of my pulldown sets my lats were fully engaged considerably more so than if I used a straight bar or even a regular neutral grip bar. There is definitely something to the grip on the MAG bars. I normally use straps as I get heavier with a standard bar but with the design of the MAG bar you can’t use straps… but you don’t need to. I went a good 40 pounds heavier than I ever have using the MAG bar, with no straps, and my lats were doing all of the work. Needless to say my lats were crippled and the pump I get in my lats with this bar is just insane.

After reading about your bars on the internet and watching the videos, I felt your products were not one of those gimmicks. Being that my background and profession is in exercise physiology and medicine, I immediately understand the concept design of your products. It turns out that I have participated in sports since the 4th grade, and have been heavily involved in the martial arts for 35 years.
Over the years, I began to develop osteoarthritis, especially in my cervical spine, right wrist and hips. Now into my 50’s, and a hip replacement later, I began to notice my osteoarthritis has become much worse in my cervical spine and wrist. The end result was decreased range of motion, severe pain, and loss of grip strength. I had to use wrist straps to maintain any grip at all on the bars. The standard lat bar and double D handles at the gym caused my hand to roll under the bar. This caused pain and occasionally I lost my grip and it “gave out.” I placed an order with your company for a Close Grip Neutral Position Bar and a Medium Grip Pronation Bar. I received them in a very timely fashion. When I took them out of the box, I noticed immediately they were well-constructed and heavy duty. I proceeded to the gym to put them to the test. Right away it was apparent the bars put my wrists in a mild degree of flexion and my fingers fit comfortably over the handle which gave me a surprising amount of leverage. The special coating that is standard on the bars added to my grip. The result was I was able to use more weight than normal for more reps, on pull downs and rows, yet maintain good form.
The bottom line is the ergonomical design of your products totally decreased my wrist pain, assisted my grip immensely and allowed me to get a great back workout. Your products are definitely worth the investment, and will last a long time. I wish to personally thank you for making such an excellent, well thought-out product.

Over the last 6 months I have been using a great device designed and patented by Tom Barton from Ohio. Often I am asked to take a look at exercise devices and voice my opinion on them. The significance of my opinion is due to my injuries that I sustained 20+years ago that left me missing half of my right arm and both of my latissimus dorsi or lats. Sometimes, being a Doctor also helps.
Thinking outside the box has been a major theme in both my personal and professional life due to my interests in Bodybuilding and Strongman events as both a judge and a competitor. Tom has done the same thing with the design of his MAG pull bars. The angles suit the appropriate hand position unlike anything out there.
Even with my lack of forearm strength and lats, I have been able to achieve more forearm power and thickening of my other pull muscles of my back. Somehow, this design allows you to increase your ability to use heavier weights without the use of wrist straps!
This device is nothing short of revolutionary and is a great tool for the lifting enthusiast to the professional athlete!
It’s not a gimmick – this really works!

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis in 2007. Since then it has become increasingly difficult to do the pulling movements required for back workouts. I started to dislike or even skip back workouts because of the pain and lack of grip strength and that’s with straps.
I purchased the Maximum Advantage Grip bar and love it. It takes all the stress off my hands and fingers and puts it on the back. I now finish a set because of back fatigue not hand fatigue.
Keep up the good work.
