“I’ve put this new attachment through several workouts and it has quickly become a favorite. Here are some advantages I’ve noted.”

  1. Comfort: Rather than power gripping a round bar or pushing through the soft hypothenar region of the hand when using a rope or strap, the Palm Grip distributes pressure across the entire palmar surface of the hand. This improves hand and elbow comfort.
  2. Maintains tension / resistance arm: at the top of a traditional grip triceps pushdown, the handle is above the wrist, which shortens the resistance arm of the cable. Using the Palm Grip, you naturally flex your wrist at the top of the rep. This maintains a larger resistance arm (i.e. keeps cable further from elbow) and likely increases the tension experience by triceps brachii at all important range/ long muscle length position.
  3. Stability: large grip surface, high durability and rubber coating, and well-placed thumb posts create a secure connection to the cable. I can use 10 to 15 lbs. more with the Palm Grip for equivalent repetitions to a rope or triceps strap.
  4. Versatility: this attachment works just as well for Straight Arm Pulldowns and Overhead Triceps Extensions, rather standing or lying down, as it does for Pushdowns.
